Rest of Nepal – #3

I milked a cow! Well, I helped...a little bit... Day #11 must have been a pretty chill day, because I only have a handful of pictures. That's saying something considering I took well over a thousand pictures in the time we were in Nepal. We hung out around Kalpana's home and ate some food at a relative's house. Rest of Nepal – #2

Kalpana's Grandfather - he's 98 now (97 in this picture). What was really great about this trip was getting to spend time and get to know Kalpana's family. Sometimes you don't realize the things you have in common because languages and cultures are sometimes very different. While we do have different languages and cultures, Kalpana's family has been very accepting of me. This picture above with Kalpana's grandfather is one great example of this. This man was 97 years old in this picture and here he is with his arm around me, accepting me as a part of the family

Rest of Nepal – #1

Something to know about me: I have anxiety and I deal with a little bit of ADD issues. When I set my goal to write about my time in Nepal I was super motivated, because it was an amazing time! Nepal – Day 3 – Chitwan National Park

After mostly sleeping through the New Year celebration, we woke up the next morning, got ready, and met up with Kalpana’s family.  Her aunt who lives in Sauraha made me a breakfast sandwich by toasting some bread (which was like the best store-bought bread I’ve ever had…don’t know why) and putting an egg in between.  That’s not a typical Nepali breakfast from what I could tell, so it was very sweet for her to be so thoughtful and accommodating.  I decided to take a picture of the breakfast.  I’m glad I did because I wouldn’t have even remembered if I ha

Trip to Nepal – Day 2

Traveling from Kathmandu to Chitwan Our second day started early in the morning because the bus we got to go to Chitwan left around 7, i think. We got up around 4:30 or 5 and had to get a taxi (well, an informal taxi. I think everyone knows someone who drives a car as a job and that's who they often call) and then we had to go to a specific part of Kathmandu where the bus stops. Our Trip to Nepal! (with some background info) – Day 1+

So pretty much anyone reading this will know that I am married to someone from Nepal. Her name is from Kalpana and she's been living in the United States for five and a half years.
